This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350H was reportedly delivered to The Hertz Corporation via Loftus Ford of Hinsdale, Illinois, and was used in the Chicago area as part of their “Rent-a-Racer” program until September 1967.
It was subsequently moved to Colorado, where it was purchased by the current owner’s late husband in April 1971 and modified for drag racing. The car is finished in black with gold stripes over black vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a replacement 347ci V8 linked to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission with a 7″【𝟭𝟴 𝗰𝗺】 torque converter, a Front Range Driveline driveshaft, and a 9″【𝟮𝟯 𝗰𝗺】 rear end with an aluminum Moser Engineering differential housing and 5.13:1 gears. Additional equipment includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Trick Flow cylinder heads, a Mallory Unilite distributor, a fuel cell, a line lock, Wilwood front disc brakes, subframe connectors, a Precision Performance Products ratchet shifter, an AutoMeter tachometer, a roll bar, and a Crow Industries driver harness. This modified GT350H is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, a collection of spare parts, time slips, and a clean Colorado title in the owner’s name.
